Please help !!!!
My car is suffering from a terrible thirst for fossel juice.
It has a new temp sensor, new lambda probe, all plugs/leads are pretty new, there are no leaks anywhere and I can't smell any petrol odour from the car.
What could it be ???
My driving isn't that harsh, but no matter how I drive the car, it still downs the juice to quickly. Recently I've been lucky to push 25mpg and that's on longish runs.
Has your right foot been lifted recently?
Fuel tank leak?, Filler neck seals/hoses perished?
Are the plugs fouling or sooty (No Mathew Corbet jokes please!).
We've had fuel pressure regulators stick on the race car, anyone heard of one going on a 155?
Are you gettin short measures at the local petrol station??? wink
Damn, it's not looking good. Maybe I'll turn the car back to standard eek!
I think my front caliper won't be helping, it seems to apply itself slightly and wear down the pads on that side twice as quick as the other side.
I just asked incase there was an engine management part that might be funky and need replaced.
BTW Wrinx, it has got worse recently, by about 3-4mpg. Didn't think the cold would make that much difference because of all the sensors and gubbins. Don't remember it dropping last winter
same problem with my car also (1.7 8v) especialy durring winter its take like 13,14 litars per 100km nomal driving, I chaneged, water temp sensor, thermostat, leads, plugs, lambda, check air leaks but nothing changed.. now I gonna change AFM...Im still dealing with stalling engine in low revs...on open road consuption is fine...well this realy doesnt help much to you...
