Oil gearbox gauge

Hello all,

Could anyvbody tell me how it is possible to check the gearbox oil level without removing left front wheel and laying under the car ? Vee6 is, execpt 1001 daily things, extremely... brrrr... i love it...

lift bonnet put your hand down back of engine pull dipstick out check oil level

pretty much as above.

its located on top of the diff,
best way is to stick your arm
under the air intake pipe, then reach
right down in front of the bulkhead
and then feel to your left.
Its a piddly little dipstick too.
Status: Remembering why I dislike working on old cars....

Never managed to achieve this on my V6 with A/C though - can't quite reach the stick.

Still, the A/C stopped working years back so I might as well remove the pipework......

Mines a/c too,i don't have a problem
getting to the dipstick.
It is quite a reach though!!
