Strange Central Locking
ok guys, have done a few searches but found no one else with this prob,
had a clifford alarm fitted on thursday, all wired in to locking and boot release, all worked fine when the fitter demo it to me, but on the way home, just driving down a quiet bit of road the central locking started popping up and down continuously until the cars dead lock stopped it (about 4 cycles, finishes unlocked). took it back to the fitters next day and they disconnected the alarm from central locking to try and diagnose whether it is the alarm or car at fault. Even with it disconnected the locks still run through a cycle of jumping up and down every now and again. this morning i found the car had unlocked itself over night so it is even doing it when the car is switched off!
im very confused about the whole thing, having the alarm fitted has triggered a fault on the car and im not sure what! could it be either mechanisms or relays? where are these and how can i test them? what would make it happen all of a sudden like it does?
BTW the factory alarm stopped working a while ago, think the roof receiver has gone but the key switch in the glovebox is turned to ON as i did not have the key when i bought the car.
is it the case that the key switch just completes a circuit so in theory if i disconnect the wires that go to the switch the whole factory alarm will shut down!was wondering if it could be causing interference and triggering this problem?
please help guys!! frown
