I wouldnt know what size to put, my tires right now are 205/50/16 but I would like to put wider tires in the back, the owners manual doesnt say anything about it, so Iam asking you guys if you know what kind of tires I could put in the rear end of my car.
I agree with Dai - all 4 tyres should be exactly the same otherwise you could put other stresses on the transmission, most likely the centre coupling.
And Speedy's right too - the profile number is a percentage of the width i.e., 205 / 45 would give a theoretical sidewall height of 92.25mm - 225 / 45 would be 101.25mm - an extra 9mm of radius! The wider tyres (of the same profile) will reduce the speedo reading by about 3%.
well you got 205/50 16's at the moment which is slightly bigger than what you got anyways... so to keep that slightly bigger profile it'd be 215/45 16's. You could also put 225/45 16's but you'd probably have rubbing issues and might knock the speedo out some more too.
