After completing any work on the engine etc, disconnect the battery then reconnect, I understand this resets the ECU.
I have had bad fuel consumption since replacing the air filter about 2 months ago (125 miles/£25 against 165 miles per £25 previously) 2 weeks ago I decided to try disconnecting the battery, and hey presto fuel consumption back to normal.
Does this make sense?????
Yeah makes sense, i guess the ecu was
overcompensating for the less restrictive
new filter and pumping too much fuel in,
then reset itself correctly to give the
right fuel/air ratio when you disconnected
the batt and reconnected it.
