It's quite irritating: my radiator fan won't stop blowing...I thought it would stop blowing after 5 mins. or something, but it kept blowing all night
None of the workshops in the neighbourhood had any time next week. So now I get up in the morning, reconnect the battery, drive to work, open the hood, disconnect the battery, go home in the afternoon, reconnect the battery, come home, disconnect the battery etc. etc. That is really irritating! Does anybody have an idea what might be the problem / what I should replace to fix it myself?
This problem has occured before, and that time I could stop the fan by fiddling with the wiring coming directly from the fan.
it's an 1.7 8v. The radiator was recently replaced. Do you think the problem could occur from replacing that? If so, the workshop shouldn't charge me any money
But seriously, according to the manual I should have some switches right next to the steering fluid bottle (even illustrated by a picture) but those are missing (not looking at the 6 cilinder / diesel version!), some switches beteen battery and air weighing thingy, and some in the fusebox (?). I don't know which one to pull for testing though eek!
I don't friggin' believe it! After several days of connecting/disconnecting (so the battery wouldn't die on me, that fan is quite powerfull), I reconnect the battery and....the fan didn't start! Somehow, the problem is gone. It must be the good weather
