8V Fuel Pump/relay problem - Urgent advice please
My 1.8 8V refused to start this evening when I was leaving the office. Very warm here at the moment - 25 degree or so, and I had just done a short trip beforehand. It refused to start on the first turn, but has done this once or twice before in similiar conditions, but has always started on the acelerator.
Tried this, but no good. No sound coming from the Fuel pump in the back??? The engine is turning but isn't firing - no fuel.
I need advice on which of the three relays under the bonnet is the fuel pump relay and its associated fuse??? the owners manual shows a picture of the position, but doesn't indentify them.
BTW the car was running efficiently and well for the last month or so. I replace the four rubber inlet manifold donuts recently, and noticed that the mpg was rising on each full tank of juice. 370mls on the last fill. The only reason I say this is that yesterday on the way home from work, although the car was running well, It is down on acceleration, similiar to before the replacing of the inlet manifold bits, but not as bad - yet not the 155 I know and love.
Finally to the point - does this lead anyone to believe it is in fact the Fuel pump itself, instead of the relay or the fuse.
