1.8 Twin Cam Warm Start Problems

My 1.8 8v has problems starting when warm, but not hot or cold!

OK, so its buried beneath the bonnet of a Dedra but I really need it to be reliable - when the car is just warm it can sometimes take over a minute of cranking to bring it to life, the exhaust smelling strongly of petrol.

Has anyone any ideas of what is the problem with my car? Can anyone tell me how to fix it?

Many thanks

sounds like you have an ignition problem (obviously),check the coil, leads, plugs etc. Also check your air filter+induction system, air temp sensor. Maybe a resistance problem in the electrics.Just throwing some ideas out here. strange you say it only happens when warm, when an engine won't fire, its usually when its either cold or hot.
