just got back from le mans, parked up,the cooling fan kept running, disconected battery after about 10 mins as fan wasnt going to switch off, replaced fan relay today, temp gauge isnt working now,oil temp is ok as are all other gauges, any ideas???
Temp gauge sender is on the thermostat, try cleaning/checking the connection. Will need to know the engine to check for fuses and relays etc. Strange that it went after changing the fan relay...coincidence?
its a 2.0 twin spark 96 vintage, didnt notice the gauge till this morning so when that packed up ???
all conexions on temp sender are clean n tight, cant see it being fused seperatley, maybee just coincedence?
The same thing happened to my '94 2.0TS....the Fan went bonkers, in the end I had to disconnect it...but the root of the problem in my case was the thermostat packed up....Nearly all Italian cars will engage the fan if the thermostat packs up, as this will avoid the car from overheating, and as Aflas have high revs this makes sense...
