I have eibach springs on my 2 litre, with Boge front shocks and Koni adj rears..I've also used 40 profile tyres on SP 16 black rims.
I've found the ride overly hard (though I may have the rear damping turned up too much).
Before spending money and replacing the Apex shocks, maybe try and get a ride in a local 155 with Eibachs? As a previous post said, they are quite expensive, and the last thing you want to do is pay through the nose for something thats not any better...
My experience is that its the wider tyres that causes excessive tramlining. When I bought the car it came with 225/40. Going down to 205/45 helped a lot, and also improved the steering.
