The previous owner was a little enthusiatic tightening up the sump plug...... Thread is stripped, and now held in place with a f load of PTFE tape. Anyone know a fix, or will I have to take the sump off, drill a bigger hole in it and tap it?
Oh car's lowered too. Went over one of those useless speed humps (don't get me started on the things, Wrinx'll spend most of the night ammending my replys to f******* ) and craked the front end hard enough for me to get out and look. Had a ZX volcane that did the same over a hump back bridge...... ended up making a sump guard for it after I had replaced the sump. Which is what I'm now planning to do for my 155. Bit of 8mm ally plate, has anyone done this and do they have a pattern for one they'd be willing to share? For some reason my car is missing all the plastic 5hit screens under the car too.
Hi all, very bad news from this country.
Today I decided to change my babe¨s oil.(1.500 miles and 6 months )
I had take off the sump plug and wait half an hour, change the filter and when i was cleaning the sump thread I saw that half of it does not exists any more.
So I have my babe in the street because I can´t fit the oil !!!
Thinking that maybe i could have this problem some day, I had in the boot a 3/4 plug like Jimybob had teached us, but I can not use it because the sump has only 1/2 thread !
Any thoughts without buying a new $ 250 sump ?
Thanks in advance

Looks like your sump will have to come off for more serious work unless you can buy new for £130 or find a scrap one. Perhaps welding a nut on the inside/outside and using a bolt instead of the sump plug?
