Carbon on tail pipe

Hey folks

Haven't been back in a while - been v busy but a simple-ish one for you:

I've noticed recently that my 1993 twinny 2.0 tail pipe has more carbon on it (thin film on the edge) than I would expect (enough to give my thumb a good smudge after 30 miles) and was wondering where to check. I suppose the first thing is to hook it up to a tune machine to see if its running rich but is there anything else to look for ?

well depending on your milage it could be burning a little too much oil.
change all the filters and see how it goes.

1992 - 40K miles. Will try the filters unless there's anything else to look at on a low mileage engine ??? Thanks jimybob
