I read this thread a while back and joined your forum to add my tuppence worth
I have been adding parafin in my Prelude's tank for a while now. I previously used Neways Roil petrol additive (Upper Cylinder Lubricant). Roil was good, but I was looking for a cheaper alternative. I have to agree parafin works really well.
I bought my last batch of parafin from B&Q (Look in the Garden section, next to the parafin space/greenhouse heaters) I paid about £5 or £6 for 4 litres. My local Shell Station wanted to charge my about £10.50 for the same 4 litres, I put it straight back next to the charcoal!!!)
As an aside I saw a fly by from an airshow with old WWII aircraft and I smelt the distinct aroma of that old kerosene/parafin as they flew by, so if its good enough for them old babies, its good enough for my Prelude. BTW I add a few 'glugs' each time I add fuel, and I only add £10 or £20 of petrol at a time n my VTEC Honda runs sweet!!!!
I also had to take my carbs off my ZX9R and have some parafin in the fuel pipes to hopefully work its way through that damn varnish build up blocking the the way into the carbs.
I'll let you know how I get on.
Also I always use Neways Roil Gold Metal Conditioner in my oil whenever I change vehicle, seems to make things smoother, but anyway thats another thread. Let me know and we can talk Oil Additives/Synthetics...
Well thats my intro.
Thanks for everyones help with this thread.
