JB, or anyone else who can advise. Would the thermostat (if knackered) make the car seem to miss a beat on the road, it happens about 1800rpm, 3600rpm and seems consistant. The fuel economy has gone through the roof and was wondering if it might be overfuelling and not firing right, it happens at speed as well as low speeds from 20mph to 90mph the car can judder and is a bit uneasy. Doesn't make me very confident in the car at the moment. It's had all new leads, coil packs and plugs so it shouldn't be any of those.
It warms up fairly quickly and the hot air isn't that hot, the temp guage stays at 70 degrees which from previous post suggests the thermostat is kaput. The thing is would this contribute to the missing on a run due to irregular fueling? I'm not sure on this one, maybe the lambda is shot as well?
i had a permenant misfire as well as quite a few others on here that was around 1500 to 1800 revs it just would not hold (hunting up and down) i too have replaced coils most leads airflow meter etc but recently i noticed it has GONE now ive recently replaced both oil temp sensor and plugs but i believe the sensor does nothing for the cars running so it might be a plug , the only other thing i could think of would be that i had my car on an examiner lately and had lambda fault cleared even though i changed it last year so hope it helps .
ps wasnt you interested in york . wink
I've got too much work on at the minute and most weekends are taken up with house improvements and the other half cracking the whip, would have loved to come though you guys will have a real good time. Next time if I find the little gremlin, I only changed the plugs in December so don't think it's them.
