Can anyone tell me if you can still get hold of the kit that converts te rear wing into the famous extended position.
Also has anybody got a clear photo of the finished job??
Ian, I don't think yours are original Alfa parts. The Alfa ones are solid (remember the 1994 BTCC cars ??) and you cannot alter the angle. The Alfa ones are also made of crap metal apparently and rot if you don't get them galvanised. Was speaking to one of the blokes in the AO online shop about them. He is on his second set 'cos he didn't galvanise the inserts, just painted them and they feel apart after about a year !!!
Er, no - not in that detail! Mine may be one-offs, but I'd be surprised if that was the case as they look too 'productionalised'.
They are definitely designed specifically for the 155 with Silverstone spoiler - they even use the standard rubbers between mount and boot lid. I know that the Alfa race team were approached for parts when my car was being modified so maybe these were experimental ones from before they settled on the correct angle for the 'standard' extenders.
Marlon you're absolutly right about the brackets. They do need preping properly Ian (Alfaowner) told me about doing that because I was think of getting some for mine. Also up close the brackets look abit macarno. Think there is a picture of them on here under the meetings section.
It was mental - that's why I took the extensions off. The spoiler was exactly at flashing blue light level in the rear view mirror.
There's every possibility that they'll find their way back on in the spring, though, particularly if I do some track days. They probably make no difference at all at normal road speeds but they must on the track , otherwise Alfa wouldn't have used them in the BTCC.
