Worn chains are given away by the increased rattling noise. Wouldn't have thought yours was far away from needing to be checked at least. Mate of mine has done 180,000 miles now on the origonal engine and chain.
That's why I bought an 8 valve, so I wouldn't have to splash out on expensive timing belt changes, or worry if the things were gonna snap eek!
I'm on 92000 and no rattle at all when warm, a slight one when the engine is cold.
