I'm new here. I've just been looking at a 155 (1994 M reg) to replace my rather decrepit 33. I haven't driven it yet but my only real concern at the moment is that I was expecting a large brown(maroon) key and a red key - what I got was a key set which looks very much like my current 33 set, i.e. black with a cloverleaf logo. Is this right, or does the brown key, red key thing only apply to later models?
Mines a 8v 94 M and I only got black keys. This concerned me quite a lot when I heard about red master keys, but a lot of searching through small print in Alfa docs (which are not very clear on the subject) put my mind at rest. Basically the 'red key' systems were fitted in the 16v twinnys, not the 8v (although I don`t doubt that there are a few 'transitional' cars ).
got to admit the 8v widebody was a good combination and prob quite rare really but discovered fused box had been re wired , no problems but got scared and traded in . i used to polish that car every weekend now i see it now an then badges missing scuffed up and generally abused its heartbtreaking. frown
