List brake pads!!!

I know discussions about brakes show up every now and then, but could we perhaps just list the pads we know and give our opinion? I lost a Tarox pad last sudnay when I was in a hurry abd that could have been the end for my Q4. Original pads doesn't wotk on racetrack and the highly recommended Pagid pads are not available for the 155. So?

I start:

Original - No good for racing

Tarox - Good both on street and track, but not reliable

Red Dot Fast Road - ?

Red Dot Competition - ?

EBC Standrad - ?

EBC Greenstuff - Good on track, no good cold, dirty

EBC Redstuff - Short lifetime, very good on track, no good cold, more dirty

Pagid 4-2 Blue - N/A for 155, but highly recommended

Only tried EBC Greenstuff and agree with your comments. Scary when cold and very dirty alloys!

Have used Halfords own brand but they were very average and smelt of rotting cabbages after a bit of heavy use.

Ferrodo (normal) - Not bad, but not stunning
Lucas (in my new one) - seem a lot better than the Ferrodo.

Wouldn't touch the Greenstuff ones myself.

Ferrodo DS2000's are meant to be good though

Many track day drivers use Ferodo Platinum here, as well as the Group N (standard production cars) racers.
They are highly recommended by most people I spoke to, with good fade resistance, and work acceptable when cold.
However I don't know at this stage if they are available for the 155 and how they perform on our cars. This info is just what I was told.

When I got my car, the pads where knackered.
I replaced with frentex pads.

Took out the old pads and they where original alfa.
Done about 8000 miles on the frentex pads, but they seem to fad badly if you need to stop in a hurry from high speed.

Anyway, next time I might go for something with a bit more bite !

Last week I got four new pads from the Tarox dealer. And guess what, It was a blue box with four blue Pagid RS 4-2 pads!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congratualtions to me ... and to all 155 owners who want pads that are capable of handling 850 degrees Celsius.
