Hey thanks, the website has VA and HA. VA must be FA, right? and HA translate as RA. Well, it must do otherwise the numbers don’t match up. How much are you looking at paying for a set Mak?
And it’s good to know a 40mm drop shouldn’t cause any probs. Now I just need to find a dealer. Oh yeah, I shouldn’t have to worry about security either, I was planning to get my alarm upgraded this weekend...
Fuel consumption? Hmmm that’s a tough one. I’ve had the car eight months now but it's a bit difficult establishing an urban cycle as I’ve always used at least some part of a tank of gas doing long-distance. I’ve done around 8,700 miles already. The stated urban cycle consumption is 11.8 litres/100km which is nearly 24 miles to the gallon.
The most I have got out of it so far was about 390 miles on a full tank (just over 25 miles to the gallon) which corresponds to the stated 120kph consumption level. But most often I’m only getting around 340 miles out of a tank or 22 miles to the gallon which represents a mix of open road and town driving. Sh*t, maybe I need a tune-up??? But take my figures with a grain of salt as of course I don’t run the tank dry. Plus it’s a bit hard to drive steady when the V6 only gets nicely audible upwards of 4k rpm with a stock exhaust!
I had to buy a V6 really. My previous car was a Honda CRX. It was what you call a grey-import ex Japanese SiR model with a 1.6 litre VTEC engine which developed 160hp. I was determined not to replace it with anything with a lower power output. Plus the 155 Q4 wasn't sold here to my knowledge.
If you’re paying what around 80p a litre for super unleaded I can understand you not wanting a V6. At the moment we’re paying the equivalent of 35p/litre for 96 octane. Some of the best selling cars here are Australian Fords and Holdens, the basic models starting with 3.8 or 4.0 litre V6s and going right up to 5.7 litre V8s.
