I realise that theres a load of threads about exhausts but I can't find any answers to my questions....so if you don't mind
I'm pretty much sold on a Supersprint system for my V6 but I notice that the centre section comes in 2 flavours - with a box and without. I'm trying to work out which one to get.
Obviously the pipe without the box is cheaper, will sound better, 'may' give improved performance and is lighter (my mechanic says that heavy stainless systems can damage the manifold and header pipes on a V6).
But what will the effect be on the catalytic converter? Will the lack of silencer box damage the cat or increase emmissions?
At least here in Sweden there is a company that do custom made Stainless Steel exhausts. The "build" it on the car , so you can't buy is as a kit. I was quoted £500 fitted and tested on the car . from cat and back. double 2,5" all the way, but still within the EU and Swedish laws. I know that A.Moller has done it on his Q4 and i will do it during the winter on my V6 2.5. www.ferrita.se
