1500 rpm idleing...

hi, my 155 has been siting up for the last 2 months so i was driving it all day today gently but eachtime im stopped at lights instead of idleing at 1000 it will idle at 1500, any idea why?

could be your Idle Control Valve.

try removing and cleaning.

should be idling at around 850 IIRC, and that's where mine idles.

two screws removes it (try not to break the gasket) squirt it full of carb cleaner, shake it about a bit, empty the crap out and then spray a little wd40 in to lubricate it again and refit

ok removed it but couldnt see any gasket! ahould i see the gasket when i remove the thing or does it come away with the vavle body? on the piece i took it off there was a green coloured paint but no gasket. I presume im cleaning inside the piece i took off and i should leave the area of the throttle body i removed it from alone?

The green coloured paint is the gasket, a thin paper one !!

No need to touch the throttle body.
