Hmm,

Renault ones ?

I have volvo 440 arms on mine, and have no trouble finding replacement blades - Halfords do a replacement set for the ALFA 155 cloverleaf, SET 20 or 21 IIRC. Should have a 21" + 19" blade whichever you get.

you CAN still buy the original arms from the stealers AFAIK.

If they are renault ones, what does the arm look like ?

Have you taken the arm to your local car accessory place, to see if they have replacements that fit ?

Yes, any regular clip-on wiper head set should fit to the arms, even if they're Renoort ones.

But I don't understand why anyone changes the original Alfa arms... I can only imagine that people are so pathelogically lazy or stooopid (no offence ) that they are unable to change the rubber blades when they wear out and can only fit new heads with blades attached...

The rubber blades themselves are available from AR.. so do yourself a favour... go to the dealer an buy original arms with heads and new blades attached. They look brilliant, work excellent and when the rubbers wear out, you can get replacements.... even from places like Halfords.

No brainer to me...

Yes... any arm will fit... but the standard "box section" arms are pretty good looking and dead retro stylee..

Everybody buy some while the dealers still have them..

People change them because the arms wear out, springs lose tension & the wipers lose contact with the windscreen.

Yep, that's why i changed mine, I still have the originals, but the springs are twisted, and one part of the passenger side has broken off.

Maybe one day I will replace them.

living in Jersey, i am limited as to what shops we have...i've been to the alfa dealers & they cant get arms anymore....the renault arms you just slide the rubber in, but unfortunately the arm on the drivers side is also broken, so its not holding the blade in place properly...i have no problem getting blades for a 155...but they dont fit the renault arms....this might sound stupid....but what is AFAIK...and where do i find them...thanks for all the info...

Aye... but in those rare cases, it's just as easy to fit "proper" new '55 box-section arms as it is to go to all the trouble of buying Renoort or Volvo ones.

The only advantage I can see is that it's easier to fit a complete wiper "head" unit in the future... since any of the "universal" type heads from Halfords etc. will fit.

But judging by how few packs of blade rubbers are for sale, compared to how many packets of heads are for sale, I'd say that people generally fit new heads when they actually only need new rubbers.

Heads hardly ever wear out. My 155 is on it's second set (first set came out of the factory and did crack after 7-8 years). The new set (Alfa arms) is still perfect... though it's had lost-count numbers of replacement blades in that time..

The whole wiper arm assembly, complete (the arm, the intergal head and a new rubber blade included) are part no:

Driver side: 7767141
Passenger: 7787196

They're aboot £30 each.. but new "universal" heads from Halfords are just under £20 each.. so it's not a great extra pain to sort this once and for all..

The blades/rubbers on their own (for the Alfa arms) are part no: 5901369

Cheers Ralf, I may invest in some originals, and keep the Other make ones as spares.

Lets hope the nearest dealers can get them.

However, I can get a set of 'universal' blades from my friendly motor factors for £5 upwards depending on quality.
