radiator crossmember

hi i am in the process of buying a 156 2.0 t sports wagon the only problem is that the front cross member which holds the radiator is damaged dented ,im wondering how big a contract it is to change this part is it welded on or bolted ,and where could i get hold of the part at a reasonable price your help and advice would be greatly appreciated . thanks G

if you mean the bit at the very bottom it just bolts on.

As Joss, says, if its the bottom one its a simple job if the bolts don't shear...I've got plenty of the cross-members. If it's the top (slam panel) one, again its a bolt-on panel but more of a pain to change - the bottom bolts are prone to seizing and access isn't good.

If changing the bottom one remember that the power steering coolant pipes and the air con pipes are clipped to it.......

Oh and you'd have got more replies if you'd posted in the 156 lounge.....
