Funny you should ask. If it's the same Ron I 'bought' a 155 cabin fan speed controller from - aka 'rocket' on alfa155.org forums - I never received it!!!

I paid for it in January. He then stopped reading/replying to my PMs on the other forums. From a brief enquiry there, I was told he has since relocated to France. But that's no excuse!

Not happy. I notice he has not posted on the other forums since end of March. Who wouldn't organise internet connection ASAP when you move?!

Er - at the risk of sounding a bit cliched :

Ron isnt the kind of guy to just cut & run , fellas .
If he hasn't been in contact , then I'm sure that there is a damn good reason for it .

Don't forget that the Toulouse job came up in quite a hurry , that he had to organise his family visits , source accommodation etc .

Keep the 155 faith !

*edit*
Shiney - have the PMs been picked up , or are they still in your outbox ?

I have that impression of Ron - that he is genuine and an enthusiast, with nothing to suggest he is out to rip anyone off.

My PMs have not been read, and remain in the Outbox. But surely he has internet again?! Possibly not, but internet access is available in homes, work, on the streets. I had been polite and understanding with all my PMs, and was contacting him every 2-3 weeks, but the last two are unread. He either has no internet, or sees who its from and is not reading them. Early on, he said he had a tracking number to give me, but never followed-up; which was why I PMed again, to ask for the tracking number.

*sigh* I hope he's ok, but it's frustrating. Not just the $$, but the 'not knowing' and because the part is very hard to find, hence a lot of disappointment.

I take yr point , Mr S , it is frustrating - from memory he owes me a Silverstone spoiler , which I've pretty much given up on .
He last posted on here on 9thMarch - which kind of suggests that he has no internet in his current situation . Admin on .org have sent him an e-mail , I've sent a txt to the last number that I have for him - hopefully he will pick up one or the other . In the meantime , is it worth you contacting Retro-Pete ? Most of Ron's Alfa stock was at Pete's unit , I understand .

The only bits that are at pete's workshop are items to go the 155 when it finished.

The alfa parts that are at pete's are from his alfa's and my alfa's as we are both as mad about alfa's.

No one has spoken to him.

I'm sure he will get things sorted as he will be coming over to see his children.

All parties have been contacted about their parts.

Since moving out to France my internet connection has been pretty hit and miss where I'm staying some nights its ok some nights it doesnt work!
But seeing thats the only problem there I havent used it as an excuse to move.

I could have used my mobile internet but was not going to rack up massive roaming charges.

I also now have internet at work so that will enable me to respond to people quicker!

As for tigertown he has not had any parts off me!

I only know 1 person who has a GTV V6 and he has been banned several times on here.

Thanks for getting back to me Ron.

To others: he has cleared things up for me so we are back on track again.

I wish to clarify that deep down I did not doubt Ron. No reason to; he is well respected in the 155 community (far more than me). Hence, I hadn't gone 'public' on the issue until this week, and even then, never felt comfortable 'pointing the finger', as if it was his fault. He has been generous with his time and I paid a very fair price for an item that could otherwise fetch more.

Update: I only heard from Ron once, shortly after this thread began.

He said my item was sent, but returned to him, because the delivery label became illegible (presumably damaged).

After that, I never heard from him again, despite several PMs. Also despite another fellow Alfista - a mate of his - trying to contact and hassle him on my behalf.

My item never arrived. I lost my money. In the end, I bought the part I needed off ebay, and was pretty lucky to find one.

So, ronb_65, you are a major failure. Hopefully tigertown had a better result.
