unsure about the colouring on this.

Although some of the UK spec silverstones just had lettering, no symbol.

Hmmm

great work UQ,just wanted to see what badges i need to get,so on the left hand side,is 155 T SPARK 1.8 and on the right side silverstone,i never got the jacking kit or the lester splitter, but i do have an original lester splitter to put on it,i don't like the jacking kit on it,thats just my opinion although they are rare!,the silverstone 155 i'm collecting doesn't have any badges, and it only needs them to just make it that nice original way. great work buddy. oh and just tried buying that silverstone sticker, and they want 4,500 something for it!!!,so i'll try finding one somewhere maybe

Most vinyl & sticker shops would make one up for you for a couple of quid if you gave them a decent digital image to work from.

THATS THE PROBLEM i need a proper picture of the silverstone decal, kinda looking forward to nice drive in the silverstone tomorrow. Not looking forward to parting with crazy cash for this car,but its a long term thing, and to keep original.

BTCC - The SuperTouring Years : Alfa Romeo 155 (1994)

here's the right up about the btcc car,,what hell has the silverstone edition got anything to do with the btcc car!!!!,so the engine is a 164 block with a Q4 cylinder head turned the wrong way round with throttle bodies, and 290 hp,why the hell did they come up with the 1.8 8v!!!!,come on,if i knew all this i wouldn't of wasted my money!,the development work that went into this car is like fecking awesome, you can buy germain touring cars today but i have never seen btcc alfa romeo's for sale at all!!,well the real mccoys.

The silverstone was just a workaround for the aerodynamic features after the change in 1995 regulations. They could only use body parts from a road saloon. You might see a bog standard looking laguna from the same year with a huge spoiler on it & some performance parts. Engine wasn't part of the regulations.

Well picked up the silverstone, and what can i say, bloody nice car.It was a joy to drive a classic on nice scottish warm spring day.Got home about 5ish,and can't believe the find that i have,it has got to be the best and most original 155 in the uk,well i would say this, but i have plenty off experience with these cars and this is the best in the uk!!! strong words but that is how good it is,a few faults but it wouldn't be an alfa romeo if you didn't have to replace things on it,1st,,i have to replace the electric sunroof motor,2nd,,i have to replace the front fog light switch,,and 3rd get a new oil pressure switch, and finally,i need to buy a new service book for this car, because it only has 46k on the clock and it has been serviced 12 TIMES!!! in that time every 2 to 3 thousand miles!!,most in london then northampton, all alfa romeo main dealer!!!,spare keys, all tools all books and folders, also as spare key thingy looks like it would be used for the alloy wheel cap, original stereo!, IN all honestly this car is only going to go up in value from now!!!!! what a find

Not bad at all. Unsure how original the bumpers are, I think all silverstones came with black plastic only bumpers, no paint on them but I might be wrong.

You sure it's the motor that's gone & not a switch or fuse? If it's slow to run drop the roof lining, pull it out & grease it up.

Skinny 155v6 ICBM

The Silvertone being a 1.8, if I remember it right, was to do with the BTCC rules regarding the engine. The BTCC racer had to use the same stroke (?) as the road version. The 1.8 would allow Alfa Corse to bring it up to 2.0 ltrs by increasing the bore.. therefore getting an engine with a bigger bore and shorter stroke than the regular 2.0 ltr engine had. More revvy and more room for bigger valves = more cavalli).

Grale Evo 1 & 155 1.8 TS

I thought the BTCC racers used the block from the Q4 (Lancia) engine as they were 16v

The bore / stroke thing may also have been part of the rules of course......
