Failed it's MoT on Friday, an over jealous MoT tester out to spite me, we have a history.
It is on the for sale forum aswell.
I bought it a month ago from Aberdeen, I was told it only needed welding done, had all that done & knowing it would fail it's MoT I put it in anyway to find the other problems. I didn't expect it to come out with so many.
I have no interest in it now as I want to get my twinny back on the road as I much prefer it.
It has 55k miles on the clock, MoT data confirms it is genuine.
ABS does not work, a sensor seems to be missing but doesnt seem to affect the braking at all.
Has a few dents & dings on the body but only 1 rear major one on the OS rear corner.
No major rust on it, most has been cleaned & repaired by me over the last couple of weeks.
Laquer has peeled on the heart & spoiler.
New headlights fitted a a few weeks ago as the adjusters stopped working.
4 nearly new tyres, seem to have done very little miles.
Supersprint catback stainless system.
145 phase 2 cloverleaf wheels which I'm told fetch alot of money.
Things for sure I know it needs.
Passenger wing mirror.
2 front brake flexis, these cracked on MoT day.
Numberplates (may have new ones with it if they arrive)
Numberplate light bulb.
Anti roll bar bushes.
Exhaust downpipe repaired at the join or replaced. I may have ago at repairing it anyway.
May need the AFM sorting out, it wouldn't idle steady but seems to be intermittent, no air leaks found.
Things the MoT tester says it needs.
NS front wheel bearing. The hubs & bearings on it were fitted 2 years ago & have done less than 5k
OS rear bearing, again this was replaced 2 years ago & done less than 5k
Front & rear pads. Failed saying they were less that 1.5mm but I whipped them off & they are at about half life, how did he even check that?
NS front wishbone. This is also only 2 years old.
New exhaust as it is 'too loud' The exhaust is a supersprint cat back, stainless steel & 2 years old, it is not that loud at all, corsa in the garage at the time was much louder.
Front OS caliper is binding, car sat for a year & a half & has eased off after I gave it a drive. Calipers are a few years old.
I have some paperwork from 2 years ago when a large amount of work was done at Wallace Performance in Aberdeen by the previous owner. I do believe the MoT tester was being a *** as the bearings were checked by me, my dad & a mechanic friend who said they are fine, also the tester has been qualified for 2 months & is not a mechanic but a tyre fitter & I am dubious about his experience, he is also an ****, he was the same when we were kids.
So I'm looking to sell so I can get back to working on the twinny. I'm not looking for much, just what it owes me which is £400 but I am willing to haggle. I'd much rather see it goto someone that will stick it back on the road, if it doesn't sell I will be breaking it, unfortunately.
