Mechanically the engine are the same with extra bits added on. I think you could probably get away with it.

I don't think the 156 has the cam sensor - or it may be a different sensor.

The difference in BHP in standard trim is really small. DOn't know the figures on the 156 1.8 but the 155 makes 137. The 2L 155 makes 147 and the 2L in the156 make 155 so thats only 7 more. If you want more power then swap out the cams or get a turbo conversion from autodelta (210 BHP) The point is that the components make the difference so what ever you start with 1.8/2 from what ever car it will come out pretty similar

If it is a '93 car then you want to replace this 8 valve engine with the 16v from a 156?

You are going to need all of the electrics too and possibly the gearbox.

Plus why would you want to as teh 8v is a far superior engine in terms of reliability. Much better for hard track use IMO

Depends on the setup - I think you would do well to upgrade the front and rear anti roll bars for a track car

Funnily enough I have just bought a 2.5 V6 engine to put into my track car. It is heavy but I like the nosie it makes!

You will get the most power from the Q4 as it is MUCH easier to tune to about 300bhp without breaking the bank...too much. Add to that, put a good set of shocks and springs on, strip out all excess weight and you will have a pretty good track tool. Cam belts are not too hard to do on the Q4. Look up "BerlinaSportivo" on google for manuals etc
