Cracked windscreen caused by lateral stress?

I just noticed my windscreen is crack, from just above the bottom corner on the bottom of the passenger side for about 6 inches diagonally up the screen. Any chance this has been caused by stress under cornering or the crap roads here causing my suspension to work overtime?

I havent hit anything & it seems like an unusual place for a crack to form.

Yes.. maybe. Car bodies do flex but normally the screen isn't under tension as it is bonded in to a frame and so is a "loose fit". Severe flexing might have put some pressure on it though.. and glass doesn't bend.

You can look at getting a stru brace maybe.. that may give you some extra rigidity in the suspension area.. dunno.

I had a strut brace in my 155 TS and that screen cracked so I can say a brace won't help had it replaced by national windscreens for about 150 quid iirc.

BTW it cracked again 1 year later, this time by a stone

Ah..

But unquestioned should fit a strut-brace anyway, because they look cool!
