Hot weather/problem starting - connected?
After an energetic 100 miles of driving yesterday on motorways, A-roads and unclassified, my car today refused to start until about the seventh or eighth time of trying.
The engine was turning, not firing and I am about 3.5k away from my 132k(!) service.
I tried various variations with the accelerator pedal, but didn't want to flood the engine and also kept turning the key but didn't do that for too long as I didn't want to destroy the battery.
When it fired (and I didn't do anything 'special' or spend any time under the bonnet, I simply turned the key, dipped the accelerator and it started), it drove without missing a beat, but any clues to why this happened? Did it have anything to do with the heat? It hasn't happened before - and I've had the car for over eight years.
Thoughts and opinions welcomed!
