When I bought mine a few years ago, paying £800, the first thing I did was get the belt, tensioners and variater replaced along with a service. That lot cost me around £550 at 'Days MK' in Milton Keynes. The piece of mind I got was better than anything else. Simply knowing that the engine and mechanics were all 100% made driving and owning her a breeze.
You could well go and buy a more expensive car, but you'll never be truely certain of the history and reliability of it. Just because it looks good doesn't automatically mean it is good underneath!!!
I've also seen this car, if you were able to get this for £400-£450 and then spend another £300-£400 on the belt /sundries, you should have a pretty good car for not a great deal of money.
You'll always love, with the knowledge of the work that you've had done on it.
Plus, you'll always get rid of it in the end and with all the work done on it, always makes it easier.
Take a punt and enjoy it!!
Do you really need your rear fogs on????
NO! So turn them off you you T*AT, it's only bloody raining.
