No fuel..?

I swapped the rubber tube that goes from the front fuel rail into the regulator this weekend (it was looking a bit perished).. but when I took the hose off, no fuel came out at all. I would have expected some residual petrol to leak out.

Should there be any fuel in there?

The beast starts and runs alright.. but when it's hot I have to crank it 2 or 3 times to start it. I'm wondering if there's no fuel in that front rail when perhaps there ought to be, that might explain it.

But then.. where did the fuel go?

The beast starts on 6th turn when it's cold, regular as you like.

do you get the same after you've just run the engine? the fuel should be under pressure in there, at least until the engine is completely cooled down
