Headlight alignment

Now that the daylight is drasticallly reduced, I find that the front lights of my 155 are set too low. The adjustment to the left under the steering wheel only alows for the lights to be dipped even more, for when carrying a load.
How do I manually adjust the front headlights. I have found the two screws which are located at each front light lens under a plastic/rubber cover, but turning these does not help at all.
Is there a trick to doing it right??

Re: Headlight alignment

remove the plastic covers above the the headlights, this will expose the adjusters

Re: Headlight alignment

There should be two screws per headlamp. The higher one controls vertical pitch and the lower onw controls movement in a horizontal plane.

Are you sure you have the right screws and are turning the correct ones?

You really do just have to screw the nut in and out to adjust the lights. I remember when I did mine though that the while plastic had gone brittle and was stripping rather than turning the lights.. It'll help if you assist the movement by pressing on the glass as you turn the screw.

Re: Headlight alignment

I'll admit, that it may be that the threads have gone brittle and mangled. he two screws are located under the plastic cover whcih sits on top of each of the headlights - it is possible to get at the screws by lifting from the front. There is a set that is close to the inner (radiator) and I am presuming that this is the one which adjusts the up/down alignment, and the outer screws the horizontal alignment. That being said, it han't helped.
I guess I'll have to give it another try.

Ths for the input.

Re: Headlight alignment

Its not at all unusual for the adjusters to seize and the plastic screws will just strip, sadly....
