Drunk clutch!!!!

hi. driving last night, changing into 4th, when.................
no drive! gear selection is fine. pedal pressure fine. no nasty whirring noises. replaced the slave cylinder last year coz i lost the pedal. to close to xmas for work to be done now, but would like to know what the problem is. o, there were no pieces of steel flying about either!!

You say gear selection is fine? as in it selects in all the gates properly. but no drive? The actuators on these boxes do get stiff you might find that its seased with the the clutch engauged. i've heard of this happening on other cars and it did on mine too. Have a look under the battery at the slave cylinder. It will be pushing a metal arm about 3 to 4 inches long. See if the cylinder has pulled back but the arm is stuck in position. Lots of wd and oil should get it working.

think its the diff thats gone!! due to lack off work and storage space "BIG BLU" has to go. any reasonable offers gratefully accepted. i love that f'ing car

send a message to RGWM here on the board, he might have a gearbox for you, for peanuts almost.... he's got some new tools he needs to put in use anyway...

if you have some ramps to put the front of the car up about 50 cm, the box isn't that hard to change, and fairly light...
