alfa 155 n/s brake caliper problem

Does anybody know if any other model's brake caliper will fit my alfa 155.I have a siezed slider bolt and I cannot find a replacement as no one has them around here, so I was wondering if any calipers from another model would fit. any help you guys could give me would help. I have read on a previous thread that 147's are the same does anyone know if this is true?.

Re: alfa 155 n/s brake caliper problem

For the 'bracket' that bolts to the hub that holds the caliper - fronts are the same as the Uno Turbo (also possibly some other Fiats with bigger than standard front brake disks - sportier Tipo/Tempra) and the rears are the same as an Alfa 145/146 with rear disks.

Sliding pins should be available at the dealer, brand new, circa £7.

Why go through all this grief..?

Re: alfa 155 n/s brake caliper problem

The rear caliper from 156 does fit, however, a slight modification has to be done. The caliper on 155 is orientated at aprox. 4 o´clock while on 156 it´s on 9 o´clock. Because of that the lug for the handbrakewire has to be twisted 180 dgr. and there must be drilled and tapered new threads(M6) for it in the caliper. You will see this easily after you have fitted the 156 caliper.
After this mod. it seems like the brakes has become slightly better, afterall it´s bit larger brakepads on the 156.
