Rear caliper - handbrake return spring

Hi everyone.

Firstly - sorry for my 1st post being a cry for help but here goes...

Just after a quick bit of advice, I've got early 155 rear calipers on my Fiat Coupe and I'm looking for a return spring for the handbrake like in the link, but heavier duty.

If anyone on has one, or some info on where to get them it would be much appreciated.

Many thanks
James

Re: Rear caliper - handbrake return spring

It sounds like your caliper is shagged and you're trying to beef it up by putting a bigger spring on it..?

You'll find it a lot less aggro' just to put a new caliper on there. The fellas at Car Brakes – Brake Parts for Cars will take your manky old one off you and give you a brand new (remanufactured) one for a ton of notes.

Re: Rear caliper - handbrake return spring

Thanks for the info.

Should have been a bit more specific.

The calipers are fully refurbed, new seels, rings - the works. When I took the calipers off I noticed that one spring was missing. The handbrake cable has seen better days, but have checked that it works fine with the spring on each side separately.

All that is needed is an original spring.

Cheers

Re: Rear caliper - handbrake return spring

I had a look at the parts CD and there's no spring available as a separate part.

You may be able to find a second-hand caliper from a breaker and take the spring off that.. or hunt around the "miscellaneous springs" suppliers till you find one the right size.

Sorry I can't be more help.

If it's just the spring you are after - I still have my old rear calipers kicking about - send me an email with your address and I'll post you one off one if it will help.
