noisy electric window motor

My passenger front electric window motor sounds like my paper shreader on overtime, the speed is fine though it sounds dire!
Anyone had a go at greasing this or is it sealed and a waste of time (before I strip the door panel off)?

Re: noisy electric window motor

The motor itself is more-or-less sealed - and anyway I can't think of anything that could be greased in there...wonder if its one of the wheels that the cable runs over thats squeeling? Or am I thinking of a 156 set-up?

Don't think you can really say without stripping the door card...not a big job...but you still can't really see a lot because the winder mech is mounted on the internal door out for sharp edges on this panel...

Re: noisy electric window motor

Your thinking of the right set up, it is most likely that one of the pulley wheels is siezed and is being hacked away by the operation of the window. Theres only 8 screws and a load of poppers to get the doorcard off, so go and have a looksee, nothing difficult about it.
