noise from NSF wheel (maybe!) also oil leak
I have a 1996 2L 16valve, and it has recently started to make a high pitched metallic noise (kind of a whistle) from the NSF wheel area. This noise is not constant and seems to be brought on by turning the wheels to the right. The noise doesn't seem to be brought on or affected by applying the breaks and breaking efficiency has had no noticable loss. Does anyone have any idea where it could be common from or the first place I should start looking?
Also, any suggestions on the best way to stop a leak from around the oil sump drainage plug (yes it is tight)? This does not have to be a permanent fix as will be fitting a new sump when I get time, but I'm going away and don't want to come back to an oil slick. Bit ironic really as I am going away to train people on oil spill modelling!!!!!
