None taken ..

I'm torn ... fix the 156 and wait to see if the Giulia is any good (and affordable as the plummets!) or cut my loses and give Alfa's a rest and go for something else sporting and fun (so not a Beemer or Audi or Merc .. )

Plus with the Giulia if prices and specs aren't available now, delivery will be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy out and can I survive using a 1.4 Hdi Pug 206 for that long (and will that one last 106k!)

Sh*t .. my is life so complicated ..

May go off the the woods, build a rudimentary toilet and become a spoon whittler .. (now where have I hear d that before!)

Alfa 166

You could always buy a second 156 and then use that one as spares...

I would fix it as cheap as poss or get a rust free 156 and stick everything good from yours on it. As you say spec and price not even out yet, you could be waiting a while for a giulia.

Get the giulia and sorn and garage your 156. Maybe a future classic!
