Re: Getting used to the terminolgy....
Thanks for all the replies.
Well, today I went and bought the car referred to in my initial post.
Its done 64000 miles with FSH (belts replaced at 52000)
No knocks from front suspension (there were plenty of speed bumps to test it over!) Pulls up straight under heavy braking etc.
Managed to knock seller down to £1700 (he did want £2200)
However, there are a couple of small niggles:
The air bag warning light is permanently on. Is this anything to worry about? Can it be reset by my local independent specialist rather than a main dealer?
Running temperature is low (60 degrees all way home on motorway and approx 70 degrees at idle.) However, cooling fan does cut in and doesn't seem to adversely affect fuel consumption (used 1/3 tank to do 240 miles)
Nearside headlamp packed in just as I got home (no sidelight, dip or mainbeam) I believe the bulbs work off different fuses so is there a common problem (such as with the bulb connector? ) I should be looking at?
All advice greatly appreciated.
What manufacturer's engine oil do owners recommend I use to top it up? I believe I'm right in thinking it should be 10w40 semi-synthetic?
By the way, I lurve the car. Its so eager and nimble. My Mondeo felt like a barge in comparison afterwards!
