It's a doddle after you've spent some time in a GT with its postbox rear window.....

Haven't found it to be a problem - I just use the wing mirrors angled down when I'm reverse parallel parking.

Touch wood I've never had any scrapes, but I agree it's a pita to park - no rear visibility and no steering lock! Not a problem, because I spend most of my time in the car going forwards

Re: Is the 147 difficult to park?

I've never had problems parking my 147, but I always reverse using my mirrors. It's a doddle that way. Turning circle leaves a bit to be desired & rear visibilty isn't brilliant. Judging the front is ok, my Seat Altea is worse!

Itís good to know itís not just me!

I would agree that part of the problem is not being able to see any of the four corners. I would liken the 147 to the Austin Allegro I used to have years ago in that it has a small interior relative to the outside. It is very difficult to see its extremes and the poor turning circle doesnít help.

It's the first car that I have ever bothered to fit reversing sensors on! There is no doubt that as you age, co-ordination, vision, hearing,(teeth?) all go down the pan, but keep trying, and keep that airbrush handy like, I does!!

Re: Is the 147 difficult to park?

Yep, mine came with reverse sensors and that's saved me from a fair number of scrapes in cramped car parks.

That long nose still catches me out when parking straight in... the underside of the front lip is white from being scraped on kerbs
