removing rear door lock actuator

Suspecting rear door lock actuator is faulty, so got a spare from ebay and trying to replace.

I have removed door card with associated bits and pieces.

There is a linkage going up to the door handle which I don't think can be removed (no access for a grown up) so I guess the door handle has to come out too.

I have undone the 3 bolts holding the door handle (2 on the handle, 1 on the trim) but it still does not want to come out, suspecting as it held down by the linkage to the door lock.

Am I right that I have to undo the bolts holding the actuator/lock to give some free play before I can remove the handle, then remove the lock/actuator?
