Hi there people. Help needed. 147 engine swap

Hay, how's everyone doing? Well I'm new to this group and also new to owning an alfa. Looking forward to gettig to know some other owners and maybe owning more alfa's in the future. Basically i have not long had a 147 1.6ts on a 02 plate. Unfortunately the engine is nakard and I'm looking at doing a swap. I have the new 1.6ts engine sat on a pallet ready to go in. I will be lifting out rather than dropping as my facilities can only alow me to lift. Havent got lift, only a engine hoist. I expect got a question about the drive shafts. Do they get disconnected at the engine or wheel to let the engine come out? Any advise on removing and replacing the engine would be great as it's all new to me at the moment.

Cheers matt.

Done more t-spark and v6 engine out jobs / swaps than I can count on the drive using a crane only. Methodology is the same for both.

Drop it out the bottom with gearbox attached.

You don't need to drop the subframe but it helps for a first time swap.

Disconnect the drive shafts using as per the v6. (allen bolts)

I've written a rough guide here;

Alfa Romeo forum: Rough guide to v6 engine and gbox removal

But I'm not on that forum often so post any questions you may have here...
