Any advice re DPF?

Hi guys, just after some advice over my ongoing problems with the DPF on my 2.4

The car went in again yesterday to reset the system. The service guy said that it was very likely go again and I should call the AA when it does. There is nothing they can do until they get a response from AR which they are not too hopeful about??!

I've done just over 900 miles and its the 3rd time the engine has gone into limp mode and I've had to have it reset.

Anyone any advice...except to drive at 100 miles an hour down the m27 for a bit to burn it off every week?

Re: Any advice re DPF?

its not a coincidence that this issue is common on the Saab TiD engines (same engine different name). the usual advice is to install the ecu update (dont know if alfa have one for this issue), then have the DPF "regenerated" (your 100mph trick is getting approx 260degrees, you need at least 600degrees to regen so get it done properly), and if that fails then replace the DPF sensor.

Re: Any advice re DPF?

There's a paragraph in the handbook on it. It should be self maintaining IIRC.
