Re: Puntomatt: a broken man??
If your ever around Derby, or deal in kent (over xmas), let me know, and you can take my car for a spin.
I went for 17's because the KONI's showed up how bad 16's were, tooo much rubber.
I got the 17" multispoke alloy (gen alfa) for £60, and 6 conti sport2's for £90.
So it was a real cheap upgrade that was needed.
I like the conti's because of the tread pattern, they are ideal for track days (intermediate type) but I find the JTD (tuned) has too much torque for wet roads, the conti's may not be the best tyre for the wet either!
I haven't found they expose any weakness on the car mind, more a case of the Koni's demanded them.
Paddy, if your clutch needs doing, for £230 quid + Vat, I would recommend giving it serious consideration.
Also, do you find hard 2nd gear acceleration on moist/wet road just breaks into a spin? (mine is tuned somewhat so I get this quite bad)
