Throttle potentiometer issue

4 days ago I went into a local shop to install a subwoofer into my 147. They spent all day working on it keeping the battery (btw, which is 10 days old!) off for about 6 hours. When they started the car, it started acting weird (pressing the break pedal, highbeams got turned on, etc.). Well, that got sorted out somehow, and now, the throttle seem to not work. We ran diagnostics and the error showed that throttle potentiometer is faulty. It is so unbelievable that at the moment when electrics were being worked on, this problem would occur. Does it make sense to any of you guys? I am kinda thinking that by having the battery off for such a long period of time, ECU got some garbage information in it and it's acting up. Any ideas?

Re: Throttle potentiometer issue

Its worth checking the white connector on the cable from the potentiometer first (unplug it and reconnect it a couple of times).

If they had the battery off for that long the ECU needs to "relearn" the settings for the engine and throttle.

Throttle reset:
Ignition on for 1 minute without starting the engine
Ignition off.
Leave for a few mins and then start car.

ECU reset:
Disconnect the battery for at least 45 mins
Reconnect and start the engine but do not touch the throttle and let the car idle until it reaches normal temperature.
Turn the car off and leave for 10 mins.
Start the car and take her for a blast
