Hmmm 156 Spare Wheel Problem!

Hi, just wanted to pick your brains on a strange issue that I've just noticed with my 156 V6 (2000 year). I've just started to check it over prior to a trip through France into Italy at the end of June, was checking the space-saver spare wheel, only to find that it seems to be the wrong wheel for the car, in that it has no bolt-holes with which to attach it to the car...! It looks unused, along with the tyre, and says "made in Italy". I've had the car for over 2 years, and have checked the spare for pressure etc before, never thinking that it might not be the correct one for the car. I've attached some photos....anyone any idea which vehicle it would be for? The steel centre disc seems to be fixed. Weird....

Now, assuming I've not missed something silly (and that it is in fact the correct one after all!), I guess I've got 3 options.....acquire the correct spacesaver wheel, rely on a can of puncture "repair", or try to find a full-size spare wheel and tyre (steel would be fine), assuming one would fit into the spare wheel well.

What would be your advice in this situation??

Yep i agree its a odd wheel by the looks of it. Yes i would get a wheel that would fit and also get tyre weld as well just incase.

Shame you dont live closer i could have given you a couple of them.

And also i have no idea what car its for i guess its for a car with a threaded hub nut

Hope you have a great holiday

That is the special spare that goes with the optional centre lock wheels.

Thanks for your comments.

I must admit I wasn't aware of the centre-lock wheel option, so that's a new one on me....thanks! I'll keep my eyes open for the correct space-saver, I think, and I'll put my centre-lock space-saver in the classified section here just in case it might be of use to someone.

Got plenty of the original space-saver wheels, but I'd guess that your local scrapyard will have plenty too, for little money........
