Jtd turbo

Picked up a 2004 1.9 16v jtd for wife few nights ago, on fetching car back lost power blew smoke out and tartly noise. I've had it up on lifts checked it out and turbo is goosed. Funds are at bare bones at minute so I'm wanting to know if the turbo from a standard 1.9 jtd would fit. I know it's not the correct turbo and pressures are different, but would it do any damage until I can get a reconditioned turbo, as car is undrivable at minute and likely to cause damage if tried.

Welcome to the skint AR owners club.

I thought the bolt spacing at the manifold was different for 8v and 16v turbos, but you may be able to cobble together a hybrid mongrel.

OTOH lots of the 16v get broken for spares and you should be able to find a used good turbo cheaply. There's at least one member breaking a 16v in recent threads. Autolusso may also be able to help.
