Re: ABS and VDC System Failuer
One word - battery!
The battery seems to have a detrimental effect on the electronics if it cant put out the precise stable power. Many people on here (like myself (try a search)) have also had this problem and by changing the battery cures the problem. It mainly happens on cold damp mornings as the resistance is much greater.
Other ppl have found things like wheel sensors and steering wheel sensors to be at fault, although the battery is usually the first port of call. Whatever you do though, DONT take it to a dealer, or even an independant first. You just end up spending loads of money on them resetting the computer which DOES NOT cure the problem.
The batteries are quite cheap too - my one was a Bosch 6PN from ATS which cost just £52 and cured my 3 years of annoying VDC messages.
Don't be fooled by getting the battery output tested....my old one appeared OK but the electronics are more sensitive when the battery is cold and damp.
