newbie 156 problems!!! And advise.

I have a rattleing noise at low revs when pulling off in my 156 lusso selespeed. i have read some posts that lead me to beleve its the variator. is this a serious problem that should be addressed or can it wait. could i cause perminant damage to the engine and does anyone have an idea of the price.

Also when the my selespeed changes gear at night my lights dim alot for a split second. is this a battery problem.

also if anyonne could help with alloys i am looking to replace the standard ones on the car, but would prefer original alfa alloys could annyone point me in the right direction for new or used preferably 17 or 18''

The rattling needs to be listened to by a reliable Alfa mechanic. Whereabouts are you so we can hopefully point you at a decent place.

The battery certainly needs testing, and you do need a good battery in any Alfa as it can cause all sorts of gremlin type problems if the battery is bad.

Car Batteries UK - Buy Online incidentally, for good value batteries by post..I have used him and V good..make sure you buy the heavy duty version if you do need a battery.

Can't advise on wheels except do NOT go for 18" ones unless your dentures are well glued in and you had your piles treated have been warned. They ruin the cars handling and ride.
