147 2.0T-Spark cam failure
Can anyone help with the following problem.
My 147 has done 257000km at 240000km I did a full engine overhaul. As the engine was smoking and eating oil.
Straight after the overhaul I notice a decrease in power. And took the car to the local dealer they said the variator was not working and we changed it. When we opened the tappet cover we saw both cams had worn down and we replaced them both. And installed a new variator at the same time. This was done at about 250000km the car never felt right and within a few km it started making a load noise. I was told it's the variator again. I left it. Now at 257000km I opened the tappet cover again. And bam both cams are completely worn flat.
Does anyone know what could be the cause of this?
I don't want to replace the cams again to have the same sting happen?
Any advice or suggestions?
